Gurumaa Font is a 'Sans' font for Hindi/Devanagari text just like Liberation Sans is for English/Latin text.

Please use infinality patch and Slight RGB hinting with in Linux.

This font is designed and meant for Linux.

license:
gpl3 + font exception, free to modify and redistribute.

v. 2.04: added rupee sign
v. 2.03: not released
v. 2.02 : made consistent with my other font Nithyananda and unicode 6.0 compliant and improved.

v. 1.50-2: reverted back to 1.50 as 1.60 not appearing nice.
v. 1.60: added bold font for KDE which still can't create bold fonts like gnome. normal font is darker compared to v.1.50.
v. 1.50: many issues with font rendering in windows.
v. 1.4: fixed Ascender top alignment for KWord 2.2.1. Now font woks in kword 2.2.1 without getting cut on the top. v.1.30 and v.1.4 are included in the download package.

v. 1.30-2: only gurumaa-1.30.ttf is provided. As bold, italics, are handled very nicely by KOffice 2.2.1 and MS Office.

v. 1.30-1: re-added bold, italics fonts, along with license file (gpl2), with font exception: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#FontException

v. 1.30: Fix hinting and now looks good on Windows XP and Linux alike.
Now Gurumaa Hindi font works in Windows.

v. 1.29: not released
v.1.28: fixed KOffice problem of below-base-forms displayed cut. fixed "devanagariSignHalantR' issue with Tra and Dra characters.

v.1.27: fix font size and added zviewgurumaa.ttf for Reading Hindi it is just Gurumaa bold font.

v.1.26: fix half-tra as in trayambakam

v1.25: fixed 'u' matra problem with k and ph in GM-Bold, etc.

v1.24: fix many issues, corrected below base anchors etc. many fixes.

v1.21: corrected many glyph combinations.
font works in KDE now as exected
matras are properly arranged on the glyphs

v1.1:
A total readjustment by making a new template.
Now font works in Windows too.
All glyphs have been adjusted.
Gurumaa.ttf = normal
Gurumaa-b.ttf = Bold,
Gurumaa-bi.ttf = Bold-Italic,
Gurumaa-i.ttf = Italic

v1.0: initial release.
